Because this New York Knicks project was super duper special, and also the life of a Knicks fan is a roller coaster so strap in and keep scrolling…
In the Summer of 2019, the Knicks asked us to create something. They wanted three unique pieces of creative - each to be used as a recruitment film for the top 3 free agents on their wishlist…
They wanted Kyrie
So we channeled Kyrie’s obsession with streetball and made a mockumentary about Kyrie and The Knicks finally bringing a championship back home, and we got all of the And 1 legends to star in it.
They wanted Kawhi.
And we thought it’d be funny to lean into his dry humor and unexpected love for comedy. So we wrote an SNL skit about his first day in NYC and we got SNL legends to star in it.
And they wanted KD.
So we thought about the only thing KD loves more than basketball - The Wu Tang Clan. In fact - he got a Wu Tang tattoo just months before we did this thing! What is this thing? Oh nothing, we just got Wu Tang to record a song and appear in the music video for it featuring some of the most legendary names in hip hop history.
