In the Summer of 2019, the Knicks asked us to create something WILD. They wanted 3 unique films - each to be used to recruit the top 3 free agents on everyone’s wishlist.
They wanted Kyrie
So we channeled his streetball roots and made a mockumentary about Kyrie and The Knicks finally bringing a chip back home, and we got AND-1 legends to star in it.
They wanted Kawhi.
And we thought it’d be funny to lean into his dry humor and unexpected love for comedy. So we wrote an “SNL skit” about his first day in NYC and of course we got a cast of NYC comedy legends to star in it.
And they wanted KD.
So we thought about the only thing KD loves more than basketball - The Wu Tang Clan. In fact - he got a Wu tattoo just months before we did this thing! What is this thing? Oh nothing, we just got Wu Tang to reunite, record a song and appear in the music video for it featuring some of the most legendary names in hip hop HISTORY.
